What you need to know about our online courses and learning management system (LMS).The process for taking an online course with HRD Services is as follows:
Student Enquiry is made through our main website pages using the contact us form. Once you are satisfied you have found the right course and read the course information thoroughly, simply scroll to the bottom of any page to find our standard contact us form. Fill out the form and someone will reply within 48 hours. Once we have received your enquiry, up-to-date awarding body specification documents will be e-mailed to you with an outline for how the programme of study will be delivered and assessed. We will also take this opportunity to make sure the course is right for you through e-mail dialogue. When we are both satisfied the course is indeed the right one, you will be asked to make payment through the page your course is on. The process is quite straightforward and you will be asked what mode of delivery you would like to take before choosing a payment Gateway. You should choose online then make payment using either PayPal or world pay. When your payment is received and cleared in the bank, you will be assigned a username and password for your course area in our learning management system.
The learning management system can be viewed here at www.hrds.org.uk
You now have seven days to make sure the course is for you, and you are happy with the learning management system. During this time no downloading of e-books or other resources is permitted. The only exception to this is the initial assessment/induction documentation in word format. The learning management system contains everything you need for successful online study, to include global chat facility, assignment briefs, multimedia presentations, interactive learning objects/modules, subject specific e-books, links to relevant websites for research purposes, and templates for application of learning. All coursework is assessed through the learning management system with feedback returned over a 7 to 14 day period. This may vary up to 21/30 days in extreme cases where the centre is very busy. Throughout the duration of study, you will have access to a tutor during normal office hours Monday to Friday 9 AM to 5 PM. Your work will be marked remotely and feedback uploaded through the learning management system. We can help you with any browser or technical issues experienced using the learning management system. It is recommended you have a good standard of ICT skills before taking on an online course.
